Darren began his finance industry career with RBC Dominion Securities in 1999, and he has been helping clients define and achieve their successes ever since. As a Portfolio Manager and Wealth Advisor, he shares his deep knowledge and insight, working collaboratively with each client to develop and implement investment and wealth management strategies that align with their needs, values, and goals.
Darren enjoys building lasting relationships with clients and their families, who rely on his ability to help them grow their nest egg, create their ideal retirement, and transfer their wealth tax-efficiently.
Combining expertise and empathy, he guides clients throughout their financial journey, helping them make informed decisions and gain confidence. Darren and his team of specialists provide sound advice in all areas of wealth management, including tax planning, estate planning, insurance, and portfolio design.
His commitment to client service and professional development led Darren to attain the Chartered Investment Manager designation and the Fellow of CSI (FCSI) – the highest honour in financial services – from the Canadian Securities Institute. He also holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Brock University.
Darren, his partner, Maria, and their incredible sons live in Burlington, where he grew up. Active in the community, he supports the Burlington Oldtimers Hockey Club and the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. When not serving clients, he enjoys playing hockey, golfing, and travelling. He is also a longtime automotive enthusiast.
Associate Advisor
Mike started working at RBC Dominion Securities with Darren in 2022 and soon progressed to his Associate Advisor role. His responsibilities include portfolio implementation, account maintenance, executing trades, and delivering an excellent client experience.
What Mike enjoys most about his role is fostering lasting relationships with clients and helping them on their journey to financial success. In return, clients appreciate his approachable nature, thoughtfulness, and prompt response to their requests.
A graduate of Trent University, Mike holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. To broaden his skills and complement his experience, Mike has completed numerous courses, including the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH). He has also earned the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation, the industry educational standard for discretionary investment and portfolio management services.
Before heading off to university, Mike played on the Saginaw Spirit major junior team in the Ontario Hockey League for three years. The discipline, strategic thinking, and teamwork skills he developed on the ice come into play as he helps clients achieve their goals.
Outside of the office, Mike spends quality time with his partner, Tess, and their adorable miniature Australian Shepherd, Nelson. Mike still plays hockey and enjoys camping, training for triathlons, and competing in them.
